What I Saw at Global Pet Expo

and What It Means for Pet Parents

I just got back from Global Pet Expo, and the biggest takeaway is this: there wasn’t a single breakout product. No major innovation, no must-have item, no “this changes everything” moment. Instead, it felt like the industry has hit a plateau in categories like kibble, raw, and gently cooked, with most brands refining what already exists rather than introducing something new. One area to watch is bone broth-based chews, along with continued growth in supplements, dental products, and enrichment toys.

What stood out more than any product was what’s happening behind the scenes- how ingredients are sourced, what’s actually being tested, and what doesn’t always make it onto a label. That’s where the real story is right now.

I’m breaking all of that down, along with what I’m seeing as a retailer and what I would (and wouldn’t) feed my own pets, over on Substack. If you want the full insider perspective, you can read more here: 👉 https://toniunleashed.substack.com/subscribe
