Rethinking Dog Dental Care (Yes, Really)

When it comes to keeping your dog’s teeth clean, most people immediately think brushing.

Here’s the twist: I don’t brush my dogs’ teeth and there’s a reason for that.

A lot of dog toothpaste contains ingredients I wouldn’t feel comfortable having my dogs swallow (and they do swallow it). That’s what made me start digging deeper into what actually works and what doesn’t.

In my experience, the biggest game-changer for dental health isn’t brushing… it’s chewing.

The right kinds of chews can naturally help reduce buildup while also supporting your dog’s instincts and overall well-being. But not all chews or “dental” products are created equal.

Some are incredibly beneficial. Others? Not so much.
