Why Is Pet Anxiety Through the Roof?

If you’ve been around dogs and cats lately, you’ve probably noticed something: pet anxiety is through the roof. Dogs that can’t be left alone. Cats that panic at the slightest disturbance.

There are a lot of reasons for it, but there are also a few things we humans might be doing that aren’t helping.

In my latest Substack, I dive into some topics that can be a little uncomfortable but are important to talk about, including early spay and neuter, why crate training is often misunderstood, how proper socialization builds confidence, and why making a big emotional scene when you leave the house may actually increase anxiety.

I’m not afraid to question what we’ve always been told if it means helping pets live calmer, happier lives.
