Every dog I've ever owned has been a rescue. Every one of them came to me eating kibble, and every one of them transitioned to a more biologically appropriate diet after they came home.
My newest Great Dane, Layla, is probably the clearest example. If you follow me on social, you've watched her grow up in real time. Her energy today is focused and calm. Not frantic. Not scattered. People want to say she grew out of it. She didn't. Nutrition played a direct role in that shift.
Most people think about their pet's diet in terms of weight, coat, or digestion. Mood rarely enters the conversation. But what your dog eats affects how they feel behaviorally and neurologically, and a lot of commercial pet foods are working against you in ways you might not expect.
